Kalawaan is one of the thirty barangays comprising the City of Pasig. It sprawls along the legendary Pasig River. Its boundaries are Bambang on the north; Tipas, Taguig on the south; Pinagbuhatan on the East; and San Joaquin on the west. It occupies a total land area of 120 hectares.
The early settlers in Kalawaan arrive in 1926. They came from Sta. Ana, Pateros and migrated to kalawaan in search for more convenient place to raise ducks. Before 1926, the people of Pateros enjoyed a lucrative duck raising business.
